Star Wars Movies In Order: Chronological, Machete, Premiere And All Details
0

The three official trilogies of ‘ Star Wars ‘ come to an end this year, for what is now or never , there is no better time to see the whole saga again and try to fit the series on the road . There are some ways to revisit them and there are pros and cons in all different ways. Also, when George Lucas launched his prequel trilogy , the debate among fans about the order in which to watch the series has become epic.

Now, with the amount of animated spin-offs and real action , the “right” way to see the saga is even more complicated. With all that in mind, we will try to raise some useful viewing orders whether you are a lifelong fan who wants to watch the movies again or a newcomer in search of an intensive Star Wars course.

Light Chronological Order

What a movie huh!?

While the original film was originally titled simply ” The Wars ” (Star Wars, 1977) was modified later to be known as ‘ Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope ‘. Which means that the order in which the films were released is not the order in which the events represented in the galaxy happen . And there the dilemmas begin.

Watching the movies in numerical order aligns the movies chronologically and, as you can imagine, is the preferred order of the creator of the series George Lucas . It may be the most obvious option, but it’s not that fun, because it ruins the biggest twist of the series by prematurely revealing the identity of Luke’s father, an iconic Star Wars moment . Of course, it is only an option for more veterans . With only the series and films Canon would go like this. (the slightest option, of course removing the series).

Rise of the Empire

  • ‘ Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace ‘
  • ‘ Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones ‘
  • ‘Star Wars: The clone wars’ (Series)
  • ‘ Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith’
  • ‘Han Solo: A Star Wars Story’
  • ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ (Series)
  • ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’

Rebellion

  • ‘Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope’
  • ‘Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back’
  • ‘Star Wars Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi’

New Republic and First Order

  • ‘ The Mandalorian ‘ (Series)
  • ‘Star Wars: Resistance’ (Series)
  • ‘ Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens ‘
  • ‘ Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi ‘
  • ‘ Star Wars Episode IX’: the rise of Skywalker ‘

The Full Chronological (Premiere) Order

This is the order in which the films were released in the cinema . The most recommended for all intents and purposes, for the simple reason that the originals are to blame for “starwarsmania” , so that everything else is products that try to rescue part of that magic. While keeping the turn of Luke’s father intact, the overall story is weird, since the prequels are in second place to jump again at the end of the story, perhaps the neophyte children in Star Wars make some mess.

The new spin off movies such as ‘ Rogue One ‘ (2016) and ‘ Han Solo ‘ (2018) are off the hook because they take place between the originals and the prequels, but they serve as annexes to quench interest, just like the series that does not have It makes perfect sense to place in this list given the long-distance character of all of them. The premiere of some and other films could have to do at the time they came out, now they are a bit interchangeable , but always after or while the prequels.

  • ‘Episode IV: A New Hope’ (1977)
  • ‘Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back’ (1980)
  • ‘Episode VI: Return of the Jedi’ (1983)
  • ‘Episode I: The Phantom Menace’ (1999)
  • ‘ Episode II: Attack of the Clones ‘ (2002)
  • ‘ Episode III: Revenge of the Sith ‘ (2005)
  • ‘ Episode VII: The Force Awakens ‘ (2015)
  • ‘ Rogue One ‘ (2016)
  • ‘ Episode VIII: The Last Jedi ‘ (2017)
  • ‘ Han Solo ‘ (2018)
  • ‘ Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker ‘ (2023)

Machete order

We start with famous variations and experiments among fans, but they enter the raving in one way or another. The Machete Order basically eliminates ‘ The Phantom Menace ‘ from the program because many consider it expendable. It was created in 2011, so it does not include the last sequels that would go later, worse since it is made by tared fans it would surely also exclude ‘ The Last Jedi ‘. To know what would happen with ‘ Han Solo ‘, but surely ‘ Rogue One ‘ would come in.

  • ‘ Episode IV: A New Hope ‘ (1977)
  • ‘ Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back ‘ (1980)
  • ‘ Episode II: Attack of the Clones ‘ (2002)
  • ‘ Episode III: Revenge of the Sith ‘ (2005)
  • ‘ Episode VI: Return of the Jedi ‘ (1983)

The complete order of the Star Wars saga

It is the order for sick people in the franchise or for people with a lot of free time. It covers everything, with all the films and series or specials of the saga ‘ Star Wars ‘ in chronological order but without following the current canon . That is, the saga began in 1977 , and since then, new trilogies have been added , as well as countless spin-offs in different formats. When Disney bought Lucasfilm, he wanted to eliminate 30 years of the Expanded Universe , so this is a list for true resistance .
